Cold Blood is an animation short-movie directed and co-produced by Elisa Belmonte, Léna Boedec, Grégoire Casella, Estelle Do Huu Tin, Capucine Fortunier, Mariachiara Palumbo, Iris Rozsnyo and Axel Vachetta.

PITCH
In a cold and dark city that looks like Victorian London, a kid named Oliver tries just to survive the snow and the cold. When he finally finds asolution. He discorvers the mysteries of the city, but it is not without danger.
PREMISE
'There is no justice, there is only our will.'
SYNOPSIS
Edward, a wealthy boy, searches for his missing brother in the streets in the dead of night. Down the alleyway lies Oliver, a skinny 13 years old boy, searching for a source of heat. Noticing Edward he decides to steal his heating lantern and runs away, but in the chase Edward makes an unfortunate encounter. Oliver hears a muffled scream coming from behind him. He goes back because he needs fuel vials to power the lantern. There is a trail of blood and Edward’s body is dragged by someone, or something. Horrified, Oliver hesitates, but -he needs the fuel vials to survive, so he decides to follow them. 

The trail of blood leads into a bleak underground. After a few rooms he ultimately enters a giant machine room,
the killer is here, putting Edward’s body in the machine. Oliver witnesses the horrible scene, Edward’s body is being crushed, and fuel is created out of it. Jack, the killer, notices Oliver, he lunges at Oliver, revealing its true nature: he is a robot. Jack wants to kill Oliver as he tries to escape, but the robot is too strong. Cornered, Oliver is desperate, but using a weakness he manages to destroy the robot. Angry, he wants to destroy the big machine. After a few seconds of reflection, he decides not to do it. 

Oliver returns to the surface with the vials of fuel to power the lantern. Once he has warmed himself up, he sighs.
A scream resonates. He looks towards the scream’s direction and goes away from it, disappearing into the night.

My COLD BLOOD EXPERIENCE
I really enjoyed the year and a half in the company of my team. It was a real pleasure and a great experience to work with all of them. We found our ways to communicate and get things done. 
I learned and improved a lot, new software and the ones I wanted to master like Procreate, Photoshop for storyboard and concept art, Maya for modeling, rigging, lighting, rendering with Renderman; Zbrush for sculpting characters, Substance Painter for texturing, Houdini for some modular environment procedural workflow tests and the visual effects simulations. 
I also had the opportunity to dig into the internet to find technical solutions to some problematics we had during the production among the docs, articles and forums; such as mastering LPE (light path expressions) inside Renderman in order to render AOVs we needed to follow the art direction, mastering Python and MEL to develop tools that would benefit all the team by checking and automatizing repetitive tasks, optimizing render times inside Renderman...
